Customers
TagPay customers can withdraw cash from ATMs using their cell phone to authorize the transaction. The customer’s stored value account is loaded through the various encashment channels such as salary disbursement, micro loans, and remittances which are built into the TagPay platform.
ATMs
Banks can offer cash withdrawals from their ATMs to all TagPay customers, regardless of whether the customer is banked or not. With a simple software installation any ATM can provide quick and user friendly mobile money withdrawals with similar ergonomics to card cash withdrawals.
TagPay ATM Withdrawal
Withdrawals using TagPay are done as follows:
- The customer enters their phone number and secret pass code in the ATM terminal.
- TagPay verifies this information and invites the customer to enter the amount of cash that they wish to withdraw.
- If the amount is authorized, TagPay calls the customer’s phone.
- As soon as the customer answers the call, TagPay sends an NSDT™ chirp to the ATM and the transaction is authorized once the customer’s phone hears it.
- The customer’s TagPay account is debited and the cash is delivered.
In addition to offering ATM services to the unbanked, banks can offer mobile-enabled ATM services to their existing customers. By associating a customer’s phone number with their bank account, customers may use their phone to withdraw money from their bank account at an ATM.
