Amara is part of a womens' health group. They benefit from a state sponsored health insurance program delivered via mobile. They use their phone to sign in at community health meetings and to pay for doctors visits.

Health: How it Works

Health professionals are equipped with TagPay terminals that have a specialized health application. The terminal is used to enter basic health or treatment information and/or the price of the service. The patient’s phone number is also entered in the terminal to identify the insurance coverage or other relevant information. The data entered is verified and the terminal displays the amount to be paid by the patient and the amount covered by insurance. The patient can pay in cash or with the money in their TagPay wallet. The insurance company will automatically wire the amount covered to the health professional.

Prepaid account services

Patients with TagPay accounts can use the funds in their accounts to pay health professionals directly.

Third party humanitarian organizations can interface with the health payment scheme to subsidize health services and/or ensure the payment of the health professional.

Health services

Once medical information such as consultations and treatments is tracked and centralized for each patient using very secure electronic mobile signature (TagPay Transaction), preventive medicine plans are possible. For instance, vaccinations can be logged and the outcome of basic checkups centralized. Consequently, the central server can detect risks and abnormal patterns and generate alerts that help identify specific treatments for a given patient. The ability to centralize, monitor, and flag health patterns dramatically improves health care as a whole.
