Voucher: How it Works

Sending a Gift

Customers can send gifts with TagPay from an e-commerce website. At checkout the customer clicks on the TagPay button and is invited to enter the phone number of the gift recipient. Payment is made using the customer’s TagPay account or via the website’s checkout tool (e.g. paypal or google checkout).  The recipient is notified of the gift by SMS (or other channels).

Spending a Gift

Using their mobile phone, the recipient can use their voucher securely on the web or at a point of sale. NSDT™ is used to authenticate the recipient via their mobile when they redeem their gift. Recipients can even share their voucher with others, sending all or part of their gift to another cell phone.

When spending the voucher on a website, the recipient is invited to enter his mobile phone number and confirm the item to be redeemed. TagPay instantly calls the recipient’s mobile phone sends an NSDT™ chirp through the webpage. When heard by the recipient’s phone the transaction is completed.

When spending the voucher in a store, the merchant uses their phone or a TagPay terminal to initiate the TagPay NSDT™ transaction. As on the web, the recipient’s phone is used to sign the transaction.
